Whether I’m fishing with a friend or during a match I’m an ultra competitive angler that’s always on the lookout for something to give me an edge, be that knowledge or equipment.
In Moonfleet Angling I’ve found a reel Gem. When your not getting bites and your certain you’ve got the right location and bait, it’s not long before you start thinking about presentation and the way the rigs fishing in the water (or maybe you should be) The key aspects of the Moonfleet Angling range is the use of fully adjustable Silicon Sliders on resilient Sakuma Rig Bodies. The options are almost endless to what you can do with some of the basic rigs if you apply a little logic, for example:
Moonfleet rigs are made to last, no cheap materials or mass production. A personal service that is finished off by winding the rigs onto foam rig holders and dispatched in double quick time.
All items are available at www.moonfleet-angling.com and also on WSF.Ian Houlton, founder of Moonfleet Angling, has added two pure Fluorocarbon Rigs - Wessex Bass and Wessex Bream - the quality design and build method used on these rigs underpins what Moonfleet Angling are all about. My only concern is how cheap they are - the Bream Fluorocarbon Wessex Rig retails at £2.75, at that price you’ll not find better anywhere.
Moonfleet Angling was initially established purely on Terminal Tackle manufacturing and has expanded with Ian Houlton gaining qualifications as a Level 2 Sea Angling Coach to provide Coaching [specialising in coaching the visually impaired] and Guiding around the Dorset and Hampshire coasts. What Moonfleet say about their own rigs:Unique Rigs: It’s a bit of a bold statement but basically that’s what you get.
The most important item in fishing is the bit that takes and holds onto your fish! Why use a consumable, throw-away item?We have taken a different approach to the whole build system.
The end result is a product that cannot be made quickly by any means but once built it can be used and used again. It can be converted and maintained to suit the individual anglers needs. We have all but removed the use of crimps in favour of Silicon sliders - these do not damage the rig body, they make snood length changeover easy, and more importantly they are re-useable. Crimps are not!
Take a 3 hooked clipped down distance rig and cut the snoods off, then see how long it takes to add more snoods and clip it down again. Moonfleet rigs can be changed over in seconds. They are built long enough for the user to add longer snoods to suit conditions or species, and they ALL come on Tronix rig winders which enables you to clip a lead to the rig and unwind it without tangles! Try that with a 3 hook rig in a bag!
