Brighton Marian for Bass. Typically this venue is plagued with day-trippers and what a I would call tourist anglers that have little or no knowledge how to fish this awayday venue. The unthinking angler will lose rig after rig on each cast; the ground in parts is a tackle graveyard and care must be taken to choose the peg that will offer up the fishes.

That feeling that you are the only one there is lost to anyone along Chesil beach during the summer. Crowds of anglers all looking for that little bit of tranquility, not realising that half of England is looking for the same thing in the same place. ...

This is an excellent venue with easy access to the beach for the less mobile. Short steps onto the beach to the right give you a clear view of the beach. The benefits of this venue are more apparent if you see it appear in front of you at dawn, that is exactly what J.abbott and me did on our first visit, and when you see it at first light you know you have something special.

Weymouth Stone Pier is situated on the eastern end of Weymouth Harbour. It is a disabled and family friendly venue. To get to the pier, by car is by following the road signs advertising the NOTHE FORT. There is a large pay and display carpark near the venue, that will involve an up and downhill walk. Alternately, you can access this venue, by walking. You can park in the housing estate about 3/4 miles away.

It will be interesting to see how some get on here with the standard Soniks compared to the "rubbarb sticks" that some "experts" use now.
